Pals, nestling in the foothills of the Pyrenees and bordered by the Mediterranean Sea, enjoys a year round more temperate climate than Southern Spain. This is an area of lush corn fields, cypress and olive trees, cork-oaks and pine forests running down to the inviting clear waters of the Mediterranean. It is an area of holiday villas for the prosperous people of Barcelona as well as an equal proportion of more northern Europeans. It is free from high rise hotel blocks and package tours.
